COVID-19 Response

How the NLSC is responding to COVID-19

March 13, 2020

To the NLSC family:
As our Nation’s communities grapple with COVID-19 (the “coronavirus”), our paramount concern is for your safety and that of your loved ones. While the NLSC members continue to support Federal agencies through linguistic excellence, we will not put you in harm’s way. We will adhere to Government directives and partner-specific protocols to safeguard your health, and the NLSC staff will continue to communicate openly with you as the situation evolves.

We appreciate the NLSC’s vital role in meeting this public health challenge. Together, we serve the Federal Government’s linguistic needs, and we are inspired by your continued dedication in this circumstance. Members regularly perform many of the NLSC’s essential missions through telework—to include translation, transcription, and instructional development among others. Together, we will address partner needs requiring travel on a case-by-case basis, and we will follow Federal, state, and local health guidelines. Your safety is our priority, and we will not ask you to serve in unsafe or uncertain situations.

Please practice good hygiene to prevent the spread of germs. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advises taking several Steps to Prevent Illness. We strongly encourage you to follow these measures for the welfare of yourself and those around you.

Thank you for your willingness to serve and for your dedication to the Nation. If you have any questions or concerns related to COVID-19 and the NLSC, please contact support@nlscorps.org.
